In the planning stages of making the advert we did some
pre-production documents and a storyboard to set a guideline to what we should
be doing, I will be talking about each bit in detail in this blog.
When we came to writing out our notes we
didn't really write out any notes because we jumped straight into doing the
storyboard and the only sketches that we ended up doing where the ones that was.
The storyboards that we did was to be there as a guideline to what we would
eventually be doing and it is also the thing that we would be doing so we made
two storyboards so that we have a choice in what we wanted to do so we could
choose the best idea that we would want to do.
We used the shooting schedule as a
guideline so that we knew what we was doing on what days or what times so that
the crew knew where to be at what’s days, by having this it meant that we was
more organised so the production ran smoother. This is useful in ways because
it meant that people knew where to be what days and what it was that we was
doing but in other ways it isn't helpful because it doesn't tell us what
specifically it is that we need to do and a way that we could improve this
document is that we could add a bit more detail so that we have more
information on what it is that we are needing to do.
For the risk assessment we didn't really
take it out with us to do the production because we knew what hazards there
were and what we needed to do in order to prevent anything bad happening to our
cast and crew and this piece of document was useful in ways because at least if
someone wasn't sure what the risk's of the advert was then they was able to
have a look at the document to see what they where. Some of the improvement
that we could make to this document is that we could think more in depth to see
if there was any other hazards that we had not thought of that could put the
cast and crew a risk even if there was the tiniest chance of them happening.
The budget was useful because it allowed
us to know how much money we had to spend on making sure that the production
and advert was the best that it could be but in terms on how useful this
document was helping us out in the production stage, it wasn't very helpful
because we didn't really look at it when we was getting the equipment and after
we had everything we needed we didn't really look at this document and I don't
think that there was anything that we could do to improve the budget document
because it had all of the information that we needed on there so there wasn't
much else that we could do to improve it.
We used the shot list in our production by
looking at the different shots that we wanted to get into the advert and trying
to get as many shots in there as we possibly could so this piece of document
was quite helpful because it meant that we didn't have to try and remember all
the different shots so we all we had to do was look at the shot list and try to
put the shots into the advert, one way that I think that we could have improved
this piece of document is that if we placed more of a variety of shots into it
so then we could use more complex shot in the production stage.
We used the location sheets in the
production stage by making sure that it had the exact location on it so that
the cast and crew could find out where they needed to go so that we could get
the production done faster and a lot smoother because we would have all the
people that we needed in order to make the advert but if the cast and crew
already know how to get to the location then this piece of document would not
be useful to them, finally I do not think that we could improve this document
any more because I believe that we had gotten as much detail as possible into
the document.
The Proposal was not really used in the
production stage for the advert so the document was not really useful to us at
all in the process of making the advert and if there were any improvements that
we could make to it, it would have to be that we could put in more information
that could be more useful.
We used the Contact details in the
production stage for our advert for getting in contact with the cast and crew
to see if there was any issues or if they had any difficulty finding out where
it was that we wanted them to meet us so this document is extremely useful
because we are able to find out if there any issues or problems with the cast
and crew been able to find where they are going or if something has come up and
they are unable to make it.
Finally, I think that the most useful
document out of all the ones that I have spoken about would be the contact
details because without it the cast and crew wouldn't know if there was an
issue with say one of the actors/actress been able to make it to the day that
they are supposed to be acting and I also think that the least helpful document
would be the proposal because I do not know how we could use it in the process
of the production and I think that the one that needs the most improving would
be the shot list because I think that we could have added in a few more shots
so that it isn't so simple.
