I think that it is important for advertisers to study Audiences because that way they get to know what they watch some of the products that may be appropriate for them to advertise at which times. Advertisers would separate who they advertise to is target audiences, some of the more expensive items would be aimed towards people who are of a higher "class" than others and these people generally have more money than the all of the average people who are called "working class", they would also make sure that the things that they are showing do not offend the people who are watching it so that it does not change what they think about that company. Some of the other things that would make advertisers divide who they advertise to would also be where the people live such as the country and it would also go on the age of the person that they aim to get to see the advertisement and also the gender of the person because they wouldn't advertise something for a girl towards a man.

I think that it is important to be able to identify certain sections of audiences because then the advertisers can decide what to advertise and also make sure that the channel that they are getting it advertised on is appropriate for that advertisement to be seen by people watching that particular channel. The way that the BARB measure the audience and the channels that they watch is that all of the viewers that are participating in the research would have a box on their TV which would track the programmes that they watch, and the role of the BARB is that they have 3 different companies work for them and they are RSMB, MORI and kantar media. RSMB is responsible for all of the survey design, quality control and the calculation methodology, the MORI is to survey all of the characteristics of the television owning population which includes an element of direct recruitment to the viewing panel and kantar media is responsible for establishing and maintaining all of the new BARB viewing panel. The Audience measurement measures how many people are in the audience, usually in relation to radio listenership and television viewership but also in relation to the newspaper and magazine readership.
